Woof. We both knew it was a mistake before we said our vows. Both were too bull-headed to call it quits. Big, expensive wedding, expensive condo in both our names, friends intertwined... you get stuck in something and think it's going to work once you get past the "stress" of the wedding. Both drank heavily, which didn't help the frequent fights. We separated about three months in to the marriage, and filed for divorce a few months after that.

A friend has been unemployed for 3 months. He had an interview yesterday and both his cars broke down with no money to repair them. He ran out of money. He is a single man with no dependents, around 30, has a good degree, worked for most of it and has had decent salaries. I told him he should have at least 6 months worth of money saved up, if not 12. I already downcasted my expectation for him. He did NOT receive that well. He was like what on earth kind of job do you do and started attacking me.
