I asked my company for a copy of the rates charged to doctors and the actual contract (not just the summary pages they hand out) so I could compare the two plans fully and pick the one that was actually the best for me (it really is just an actuarial math problem after all). I was told they aren't allowed to tell me the rates with doctors nor are they allowed to give me the full terms and contract until after I sign up. That industry is so fucked up and stacked against consumers.

A friend has been unemployed for 3 months. He had an interview yesterday and both his cars broke down with no money to repair them. He ran out of money. He is a single man with no dependents, around 30, has a good degree, worked for most of it and has had decent salaries. I told him he should have at least 6 months worth of money saved up, if not 12. Learn that life is just a time line of events, except that the events occurring can be manipulated and that would change the events occurring in the future.
