I would guess that anywhere there are rotisserie chickens for sale, there's a good chance they're the loss leader, and cheaper than raw. A store with rotisserie chickens is serving customers who can afford them, not just basic subsistence buyers, which means they have more money to spend elsewhere (so such loss-leaders are appropriate marketing), and the rotisserie chickens are going to spoil faster than the refrigerated foods, so they're a better candidate for "sell these fast at any cost" tactics by necessity alone.

A friend has been unemployed for 3 months. He had an interview yesterday and both his cars broke down with no money to repair them. He ran out of money. He is a single man with no dependents, around 30, has a good degree, worked for most of it and has had decent salaries. I told him he should have at least 6 months worth of money saved up, if not 12.
