MIND YOU- when his uncle was diagnosed with cancer a few years back, I would leave work early to go help him and his cousin with cooking for his uncle and picking up around the apartment (and happily so- I would do that again to this day Bc that’s just the person I am). I tried my best to split my time between my family and trying to make him happy, I even threw him a massive bday party for his 30th to which he later said “that was nice but not what I wanted”. We went to couples therapy bc I said to myself “ if this is going to end I want to make sure I did everything to save my marriage”.

Got married young, getting divorced young. We both were not mature enough. She broke my heart. It wasn't smart getting married so soon, but i was blinded by love. A friend has been unemployed for 3 months. He had an interview yesterday and both his cars broke down with no money to repair them. He ran out of money. He is a single man with no dependents, around 30, has a good degree, worked for most of it and has had decent salaries. I told him he should have at least 6 months worth of money saved up, if not 12. I already downcasted my expectation for him. He did NOT receive that well. He was like what on earth kind of job do you do and started attacking me. Learn that life is just a time line of events, except that the events occurring can be manipulated and that would change the events occurring in the future.
